Engleside Christian School

Extended Care Program

ECS runs separate extended care programs before and after school for students enrolled in an ECS academic program to accommodate the needs of parents. ECS operates these programs as religiously exempt from licensure while voluntarily complying with VA health, safety, and student-ratio regulations. ECS charges an additional fee for students participating in either the AM or PM extended care program.*

Parents may drop off students at ECS as early as 6:30 AM. Students will be escorted to their classrooms by 8:00 AM. Although the cafeteria is not open for business, students are permitted to eat breakfast during AM extended care.

Students registered for extended care after school will be picked up and signed into the PM care program each afternoon at 3:25 PM. ECS allots time for students to eat a snack (limited snack items are available for purchase from the cafeteria after school) shortly after 3:30. PM extended care is an unstructured time for students to interact with each other. ECS will provide older students with the opportunity to do homework. Adults picking students up from the PM extended care program must present a photo ID to the ECS supervisor upon demand. ECS provides a discounted rate for students picked up before 4:30 on a daily basis.*

The entire staff at Engleside have been cleared by DSS and state background checks. All adult staff members are CPR and First Aid-certified by the American Heart Association. MAT-certified staff are available to administer medications as necessary.
